QSC offers laboratory consulting services in all phases of the laboratory set-up process, as well as the implementation of all documentation needed for CLIA/COLA/CAP and state compliance.

Phase I

  • Location of laboratory, aid in acquiring appropriate personnel
  • Detailed facility planning, including physical layout of lab space and consistent contact with contractors
  • Notify the Department of Public Health and complete all applications for the purpose of obtaining CLIA/COLA/CAP and state requirements
  • Hand-pick the most cost-effective, efficient equipment to meet your lab’s demands
  • Coordinate relevant supplies and equipment
  • Ensure training is scheduled and completed

Phase II

  • Work with Administration/lab director/testing personnel to establish appropriate workflow and test reporting criteria
  • Make sure all validation studies are performed and statistically sound
  • Establish quality control, quality assurance, and maintenance programs for all testing
  • Implement all necessary procedures and policies needed to meet CLIA/COLA/CAP and state requirements, when applicable.

Phase III

  • Monitor the lab’s quality systems, workflow, and test reporting for effectiveness
  • Ensure any technical or operational issues have been resolved and remedial action taken (if applicable)
  • Evaluate competency of all testing personnel and identify additional training needs (if applicable)
  • Review OSHA requirements with all testing personnel
  • On-site attendance during the initial inspection
